Special Services for Expecting and New Parents
Counseling and Psychological Services
Staffed by licensed clinical psychologists and two psychiatrists, the mental health program provides assessment, intervention, evaluation, and treatment services.
These services include counseling for relationship and marriage problems, family and parenting issues, depression, pregnancy and postpartum issues, anxiety, grief and loss, stress management, pain management, phobia and panic disorders, problems related to aging, adjustment disorders, eating disorders and problems related to health/medical concerns, attention deficits, and post traumatic stress disorders. Psychological testing, referral services, clinical diagnostic services, and individual and group therapy are offered.
Counseling and Psychological Services staff work in partnership with professionals from area school districts, medical clinics, and social service agencies to offer comprehensive services for children and adolescents.
More adults are discovering that massage and bodywork have many benefits, including release of chronic muscular tension and pain, improved circulation, increased joint flexibility, reduced mental and physical fatigue and stress, faster healing of injured muscles, improved posture, and lower blood pressure. Of course, pregnancy and birth are both emotionally and physically stressful, and a massage can have many health benefits. But that aside, a massage simply feels wonderful!
Marianne Reis, a certified therapeutic massage and bodywork therapist, provides therapeutic massage and bodywork at the Medical Center. For more information or to make an appointment, call St. Croix Regional Medical Center at 715-483-0241 or 1-800-828-3627, Ext. 2241.

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support
SCRMC offers specially trained staff to offer compassionate support and care in difficult times of pregnancy and birth. Special bereavement packages are provided free to the family experiencing loss and much care is taken as the family transitions to home.
Modern life is full of stress, time constraints, and frustration. Sitting in traffic, arguing with your spouse, lack of sleep, and yes, pregnancy and having a new little baby to care for—all make your body react as if you were facing a physical threat. Today, instead of protecting you, this reaction may overtime make you more vulnerable to life-threatening health problems. Fortunately, you can develop skills to avoid some stressors and limit the effects of others. The payoff includes less fatigue, more peace of mind and — perhaps — a longer, healthier life.
