Construction Update March 15, 2018

The weather is finally cooperating with us and the project has lurched forward in a big way.

  • The roof is on and sealed up.
  • Exterior spray foam will be done by the end of this week. The foam both insulates exterior walls and provides a moisture proof seal.
  • Bricks are being placed on the northwest corner. Their installation will proceed along the north wall and then turn down the east wall. The entire building masonry work won’t be completed until mid-April.
  • Underground plumbing is being installed to handle waste from sinks and toilets and rainwater run-off from the roof.
  • Once pipes are complete underground, the floor slab will be poured. The floor should be in place by March 20.
  • Interior framing will begin just after St. Patrick’s Day and will continue until after our income taxes are due. Once studs are in place, plumbers and electricians can begin to run pipes and conduit. Halfway through the framing, it will become clear how the building will look when complete.
  • Toward the end of March, ductwork will arrive on site and the business of installing heating and cooling will begin.
