Diagnosis & Treatment for Sleep Disorders

When you can’t sleep, you’re losing more than just a good night’s rest; you’re losing your physical and mental stability. Getting a full night’s sleep is important for your overall health and wellness. When you have poor or inconsistent sleep, your body suffers.

The Sleep Center at St. Croix Regional Medical Center is a facility fully accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. We provide diagnosis and treatment for various sleep disorders for patients of all ages. We can help you take back the night.

Sleep disorders we treat include:

  • Sleep apnea
  • Insomnia
  • Inverted circadian rhythm
  • Restless leg syndrome
  • Narcolepsy

The Sleep Study

Learning what’s causing your difficulty sleeping is key to finding a solution. In order to diagnose your condition, we need to observe you sleeping. The sleep study is an overnight exam performed at SCRMC. During this study, you will spend the night in a quiet and comfortable bedroom, and sleep on a double bed (not a hospital bed). To help you feel more at home, the room is equipped with cable television and an adjacent bathroom. You will be connected to devices that monitor your heart rate and other vital signs, as this information will help our team make a diagnosis.

Sleep studies are painless and noninvasive; no injections or incisions are required. When the test is finished, you will be sent home while our team analyzes the results. We will then contact you to discuss the diagnosis and treatment options.
