Clinical Laboratory

Pathology & Blood Banking Services

Clinical laboratory staff play an important role in determining the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease. SCRMC’s full-service certified High Complexity Laboratory provides area communities, clinics, and hospitals with access to lab services.

The lab provides pathology services for lab tests, serves as a blood bank resource for area hospitals, and offers direct access for a variety of tests that do not require referral from a provider and that are available on a cash/pay basis.

COVID-19 Testing

St. Croix Regional Medical Center offers COVID-19 testing at our St. Croix Falls and Webster locations. Our COVID-19 testing is by appointment only. Please call 715-483-3221 to speak with a patient access team member to setup your appointment. You will need either an in-person provider visit or CroixCares Virtual Health visit prior to being able to schedule a COVID-19 test if you have COVID symptoms.

  • Samples are being collected at our Respiratory Illness Clinic in St. Croix Falls and our Webster Health Center.
  • Your test results will be sent via MyChart or via a phone call. If you do not have a MyChart account you can sign up here.
  • Results will be available within 2-3 days, depending on test volumes.

You can get tested for COVID-19 if at least one of the following is true:

  • If you have COVID symptoms, you will need either an in-person provider visit or CroixCares Virtual Health visit prior to being able to schedule a COVID-19 test.
  • If you do not have COVID symptoms, but have been exposed. Call to schedule a COVID testing appointment.
  • You are scheduled for a surgery/procedure or to be induced within 96 hours, with one of our providers.
  • Factsheet on COVID 4-Plex (COVID, influenza A, influenza B, RSV) test.

Because of the increase in symptomatic patients and high-risk exposures in the area, SCRMC is currently unable to perform COVID-19 testing for travel purposes. If you need a pre-travel test, please look at being tested at the airport, through the county health department or other testing locations in the area.

Direct Access Lab Testing

Direct Access Lab Testing is for patients who want to learn about their health status without large out-of-pocket costs.

Direct Access Testing allows you to request laboratory tests and receive results without a provider’s orders or insurance involvement.

Why Use Direct Access Lab Testing?

  • Lower out-of-pocket costs.
  • May have more frequent testing than your health plan may allow.
  • Great for people who wish to assess their health status on a regular basis.
  • Patients who are away from their primary care provider network can obtain needed lab testing.
