Classes and Support Groups

Expectant Parents
Created for parents in their 7th or 8th month of pregnancy. Learn about labor delivery, breathing, and relaxation techniques. Participants will also learn about postpartum care and infant feeding, and take a tour of the Birthing Center. Class is completed in four sessions, every other month. When available, guest speakers will discuss their area of expertise in obstetrics. Instructor is a Health Educator, IBCLC Lactation Consultant, and mother.

• Session 1: Stages of labor, tour the OB unit, positions to progress labor
• Session 2: Positions, breathing and relaxation, forming a personal birth plan, pain management medications
• Session 3: Infant feeding, safe sleep, newborn care
• Session 4: Car seat safety, infant CPR, parenting connection, life with baby basics

The Latch (Nursing Mothers Group)
All nursing moms and their babies are invited! Meet with other new mothers in a casual setting to help overcome possible difficulties when nursing and share some of your stories. Sessions are lead by a Lactation Consultant. 

Infant Massage
Communicate your love through touch! Participants will learn to massage their babies. Infant Massage will help you learn to read your babies cues. Massage can also help relieve discomfort from teething, colic, and other stressors. Class is taught by a Certified Infant Massage Instructor.  Call Massage Therapy at 715-483-0241 to arrange a session.

Baby and Me

Looking for support during the first year of development for your child? St. Croix Regional Medical Center offers a new parenting group.  A weekly play and discussion hour for parents and their infants (birth to 12 months). Offered each Tuesday, join the group at any time.  Attend as many sessions as you like.  To register for this free group, please call the Family Resource Center at 715-684-4440.
