About SCRMC: Foundation

Foundation Mission

The St. Croix Valley Health Care Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to conduct charitable, educational, scientific, and fundraising activities to promote quality health care in the St. Croix Valley.  Their work focuses on health care, community service, and education.

Through its financial gifts, the SCVHC Foundation stands as a staunch supporter of our communities' health care organizations.  Funds are invested prudently, ensuring that income earned from them will be used to further the mission of the Foundation.  Current income also funds purchases of health care equipment for the benefit of patients at St. Croix Regional Medical Center.

Scholarship Awards

For many years, the Foundation has provided scholarship assistance to individuals from our communities who are entering or furthering their education in a health care field.  Each year, a percentage of Foundation funds are earmarked to the Scholarship Program.  Many past scholarship recipients now are putting their education and experience to work in our community. This past year,  twelve individuals received a total of $4800 in scholarship awards.

SCRMC Summer Golf Classic Raises $23,000

The 14th Annual Golf Classic was held Friday, June 20 in Frederic at the Frederic Golf Course with 31 teams participating in the "sold out" event. Hauge Dental Men and Women's Teams won the First Place divisions.  The dollars raised are dedicated to the Infusion/Chemotherapy Center at the new Frederic Clinic soon to be under construction. The funds raised support the Foundation's mission of providing patient care improvements, equipment and furnishings and health care scholarships to students in the region served by SCRMC.  Thanks to all the wonderful sponsors and participants as well as Johnson Motors and Larson Auto, our Hole-in-One Sponsors for helping to make this event an enormous success for 2014.

A unique Glow Ball golf tourney was held in Webster at Fox Run on September 13 as an added event to raise funds for scholarships and patient care equipment.

Fall Gala Fundraising Dinner - September 25

A champagne reception.  Great food.  Excellent company.  Exciting raffles and auction.  All this and more have brought together supporters of the Foundation's work each September for the past 19 years at the Trollhaugen Conference Center.  Individuals and businesses generously donate all items sold through the auctions and raffles, and even a live dessert auction created excitement this year.

Health Care Advocate Award

Another very special annual event takes place at the Gala Dinner--naming the winner of the Foundation's Annual Health Care Advocate Award. Each year the Foundation Board chooses an individual from our community whom they believe has made a significant contribution to the health care of the community. The award recognizes the efforts of an individual who promotes the ideals of health care and has contributed countless hours to further the mission of health care in the region. Sandra Williams, Former SCRMC Marketing and Community Relations Director, received the award for 2014. Elvira Schmidt presented the award.
