These issues include incontinence, urinary stones, prostate enlargement, prostate cancer evaluation and treatment, other urinary tract cancers, urinary trauma, male sexual dysfunction, and male infertility. Dr. Nunes provides a broad range of urology evaluation, testing, care and treatment options.
Clinical and surgical services include:
Urodynamic testing. Urodynamics refers to a series of diagnostic tests that evaluate the function of the bladder and urethra. This testing helps Urologist, Dr. Nunes, better assess the overall health of the bladder–its volume, rate of urine release, whether it’s failing to empty, and so on--making as accurate a diagnosis as possible. These tests are recommended for those who have urinary incontinence (leakage of urine), recurrent bladder infections, a slow or weak urinary stream, incomplete bladder emptying, or frequent urination. Urodynamics tests provide valuable information to aid in the accurate diagnosis of urinary problems.
Biofeedback. Dr. Wendy Nunes also works closely with the Medical Center’s physical therapy staff to provide expert help for women and men with bladder control problems using a valuable new tool: biofeedback. This non-surgical form of therapy is used to retrain the pelvic floor and/or bladder muscles. “Our goal is to provide a full range of "state-of the-art" evaluation and treatment options to improve the quality of life for those with bladder control problems,” said Dr. Nunes.
